Visit MUSSOORIE, a popular hill station in India.

In the foothills of the Himalayas and at a height of 6,500 feet is MUSSOORIE,  a hill station in Uttar Pradesh, India, that is popular with newly-weds and older people alike.  It is connected to several other small and large "hill stations" by narrow paved roads. The air here is fresh and cool and the views are spectacular. It is located  in the Garhwal hills.

In Mussoorie you will find not only fresh cool air but also serene ambience. It is called the Queen of Hill Stations because of its natural beauty. Captain Young of the British army  was influenced by its beauty in 1820 and made his residence here. This was the beginning of this hill station. Its name is derived from the plants called "Mussoorie" which are plentiful here.  After 1820 the hill station gradually developed as a center of education, business, and tourism.

Here you will find nodern bungalows, small and large hotels, malls, well laid out gardens dotting the hills, It is an excellent place to get away to from the summer heat.Nature has made it beautiful in every respect.

Several of the Hindu places of pilgrimage such as Rishikesh, Haridwar, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Jumnotri ar not too far from here.
