First look through magazines to see what kind of highlights you want. Then think about hair texture and length. If you want to cut hair, do that first.

If your hair is short, the cap method is best for you. Style the hair normally, then put the cap on tight and firm. With the provided hook pull air through each hole. The more hair you pull through the more highlights you will have. You can do this around the face, in the back, all over, or randomly. If your hair is longer you may need to paint or foil your hair.

If you desire to use two colors, alternate darker and lighter colors. For longer hair buy two kits specially if you plan to do much coloring. If you use the cap, put the darker color first and let it dry before doing the same thing with he lighter shade. Be sure to first test a strand to know how long to leave the color on.
